Melinda Kelly was out taking a stroll on a warm summer's evening when she heard strange rumblings seeping out of a two-story white house in Old Town Pinole. It sort of sounded like crazy circus music, or maybe Zydeco, the Mills Brothers? She crept closer to a partially opened side window, trying to get a good listen. This, however, would not do. Melinda stood up, brushed the rose thorns and sticky nettles off her shirt and hair, then strode in through the side door. Not knowing or caring who was inside, she simply needed to be a part of this wild music, much to the surprise and delight of the band. As it turned out, she was an old friend from the high school days, and everybody knew everybody. She instantly fit in and as the band settled down and got back to business, Melinda spontaneously joined in and a new song was born: "Work you Weirdos, Work!"
